Happy Valentine’s Day from this Oxfordshire Makeup Artist!
February always need a little pep up and Valentine’s Day – like it or loathe it – always arrives at just the right time for me to get a little romantic pick me up from Mr Wilson!
Valentines Day makeup needs to be soft and romantic in my opinion. It is not overtly sexy; instead it is pretty and fairytale-like. Here are this Oxfordshire Makeup Artist’s top tips! Pink to make the boys wink!
Soft pinks on the eyes are always so pretty – this is Charlotte Tilbury’s Pillow Talk Eye Palette. I think this is suited to neutral and slightly cooler skin tones. Another great palette is Max Factor’s Rose Nudes. Use a redder tone to line the lash line if you have green eyes, purple for brown eyes and copper for blue as this will make your eyes really pop. It doesn’t need to be a strong colour – just a hint is enough.
A soft blush across the cheeks suggests that you are slightly flushed with all the romantic excitement! This one is my favourite – Luminous Flush from Hourglass. It is the closest to mimicking your natural glow I have found. I always reach for it constantly in my pro kit. It suits most skin tones.
Not to be a cliché, but naturally pink lips are very kissable. Lots of people are put off if they feel that they will be covered in lipstick – but a colour close to your natural lips will be perfect. A huge favourite among my brides is Charlotte Tilbury’s Pillow Talk.
